For most of the year, you’d be hard-pressed to find an empty room at many hotels, but October is one of the few exceptions. With fall in full swing, some people are content to stay home and enjoy pumpkin spice lattes and cider donuts, while others are plotting their escape to somewhere warm and sunny – or perhaps somewhere both warm and sunny. Mauritius has many other interesting spots too like Champagne Beach where it's not unusual to see sea turtles during your swim. For anyone looking for some outdoor adventure, there's even quad biking which takes you across pristine beaches or through rainforest jungle.
For a more active vacation, Madagascar is an incredible country with rich biodiversity including lemurs and gorillas which can only be found on this island nation off the coast of Africa. In late September visitors have even better chances of seeing them as they migrate seasonally inland away from the coastal regions. You might also spot whale sharks migrating past Madagascar's shores while they head northwards towards colder waters!
